About D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University

D. Y. Patil Agriculture and Technical University (DYP-ATU) is a state private university established under the Maharashtra Act No. XXXVI of 2020, notified on December 28, 2020, by the Government of Maharashtra. The university is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and functions under the aegis of the D. Y. Patil Group, a reputed name in higher education in India.

DYP-ATU was established with the vision of providing high-quality education in agriculture, engineering, management, and allied sciences. The university presently operates through three schools, namely, the School of Engineering and Technology, the School of Commerce & Management, and the School of Interdisciplinary Studies. Currently, the university offers 9 undergraduate (UG), 13 postgraduate (PG), and Ph.D. programmes, all conforming to Section 22 of the UGC Act, 1956.

DYP-ATU follows a student-centric and industry-oriented learning model aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Teaching emphasizes experiential learning through projects, internships, and field training. The university employs highly qualified faculty members recruited as per UGC norms.

The academic environment is supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure, including modern classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and a well-equipped library housing national and international books, journals, and e-resources. DYP-ATU has adopted a comprehensive research policy to nurture a vibrant research and innovation ecosystem. Faculty members publish extensively in national and international journals and have authored several books and book chapters with reputed publishers.

A major milestone is the establishment of the Centre of Excellence in association with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) — the first of its kind in Maharashtra. This centre serves as a hub for skill development, applied research, and industry collaboration, bridging academic learning with employability and entrepreneurship opportunities.
